Westmead Hospital Foundation’s ‘COVID-19 Staff Respite Unit’ – Refurbished by CHRG

As the significance of COVID-19 began to unfold, Westmead Hospital Foundation put the call out for help to create a ‘home away from home’ for our local healthcare professionals at the frontline of the pandemic.

CHRG responded with a donation of over $6,000 worth of furniture and cash to assist with the refurbishment of Westmead Hospital Foundation’s first COVID-19 Staff Respite Unit.

The respite unit features multiple lounge areas, bathrooms, kitchens and short-stay sleeping quarters – with each unit accommodating up to 30 staff who can use the area to rest, refresh and recharge during their round-the-clock efforts to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic head-on.

We know this space will be utilised well into the future, taking care of the needs of our hardworking healthcare professionals.

On behalf of the CHRG Board of Directors, we thank our local frontline healthcare workers for their tireless efforts and hope their newly refurbished rest area provides the much-needed respite they deserve.
