CLUB

Learn, Create and Connect Through Photography

The Castle Hill RSL Photography Club is the largest photography club in NSW. The club meets on the first four Tuesdays of the month. A wide variety of presentations are organised:

  • 1st Tuesday is a Lecture presentation by experienced photographers outlining their work, particularly genres that the average photographer may not have a chance to try
  • 2nd Tuesday is Training and covers basic to expert levels. These are provided by the members as there is a wealth of experience in the membership, and they are only too willing to share
  • 3rd Tuesday is training in portraiture with an actual shoot to reinforce the teachings
  • 4th Tuesday is a competition night. This is a great way for beginner photographers to gain feedback on their images from experienced judges. Also, members get to see the marvellous work of members from their early stages and up to international levels.

There is a strong socialising element, with outings organised regularly on a variety of weekdays and weekends. These can be events or theme-based outings to take photographs. For the beginner, members will help with settings and advice.

A Get to Know Your Camera Day is held at least once a year, and it is a great way to learn more about the basics of photography and your specific camera. There is also an introduction to Lightroom and Photoshop so that members can learn how to post-process their images.
