CHRG and Castle Hill Fitness pride ourselves on being a place for the whole community. We all know the power of regular exercise and the impact it can have on one’s health and well-being, and for over 40 years nobody has championed that message louder and longer than John Riboldi – aka ‘Gus’.
As Gus retired earlier this year after 40 years with CHRG, it was important to everyone from our Board of Directors and the Senior Leaders of CHRG, through to the Staff at Castle Hill Fitness, that we could recognise and honour Gus’ service and commitment. And while dinners and gold watches are nice, we know Gus is a community man at heart and we wanted to do something that we felt would retain Gus’ message and his legacy with something we know would be important to him.
As such, the ‘John Riboldi Scholarship’ was launched on Thursday 15th December. Each year we will be offering 2 x local autistic young adults an opportunity for them (and a family member) to receive a complimentary 12-month membership at Castle Hill Fitness, supporting them along a path that keeps them active, and helps with their physical and mental health.
We are excited to announce our very first recipients of the ‘John Riboldi Scholarship’ – Patrick Cusack, Jason Amit and Oliver Fontany!
CHRG’s Group CEO, Mr. David O’Neil said “This is such a great initiative named after a great man that cares. Gus has made a difference in so many people’s lives, and to see the friendship and respect these boys have for Gus is wonderful”.
A huge thank you to Gus for his commitment and dedication and congratulations to our very deserving winners!
