A celebration of golf and community came to life on Thursday, 18th, and Friday, 19th December 2025, as the Stockland the Gables Pro-Am 2025 took place at Lynwood Golf & Country Club, welcoming leading PGA professionals and amateurs for two days of competitive and collaborative play.
Lynwood’s championship course provided the stage for a strong field of professionals and amateur partners, with extreme summer temperatures reaching 42 degrees Celcius, adding a further test of endurance and focus. Despite the heat, the Pro-Am format once again delivered on its promise – creating a rare opportunity for everyday golfers to compete alongside some of the country’s best, while showcasing the course at its tournament-ready best.
The professional title was claimed by Gavin Fairfax, finishing at -11 after two strong rounds to top a tightly contested leaderboard. Fairfax set the standard with composed shot-making and steady scoring across the tournament. In the Gross Stableford competition, Matt Nathan secured victory with 68 points, demonstrating consistency and smart course management throughout. The Stableford honours went to Steven Chau, who finished with an outstanding 85 points, highlighting the depth of the amateur field and the inclusive spirit that defines the Pro-Am format.
Matthew Bailey, General Manager of Golf at Lynwood Golf & Country Club, said the event once again reinforced Lynwood’s reputation as a premier host for professional and Pro-Am tournaments. “The Stockland the Gables Pro-Am continues to grow in stature each year, and the quality of golf on display across both days was outstanding – especially in conditions like this,” Mr. Bailey said. “Our professionals and amateurs showed real grit in the heat, and I’m incredibly proud of the way our team presented the course and looked after players throughout the tournament.”
Major partner Stockland the Gables played a central role in the event’s success, continuing its support for golf and community-focused initiatives in Sydney’s north-west. Russell Clark, Project Director at Stockland the Gables, said the Pro-Am was a natural extension of the organisation’s commitment to fostering connection and shared experiences. “We’re proud to be the naming rights partner of the Stockland the Gables Pro-Am and to support an event that brings people together through sport,” the spokesperson said. “Seeing players and the Lynwood team rise to the challenge in such extreme temperatures speaks volumes about the spirit of this event and the strength of the partnership behind it.”
Beyond the leaderboard, the event delivered meaningful benefits for players, partners, and the wider community, strengthening Lynwood’s position on the Pro-Am calendar while reinforcing the long-standing relationship betwen Stockland and Castle Hill RSL Group. The Stockland the Gables Pro-Am 2025 was not only a test of skill and endurance but also a testament to the enduring partnerships and community spirit that continue to define the event – and the game of golf itself.
