Promoting Active Aging: Castle Hill RSL Champions Health and Connection

Castle Hill RSL Club is proud to champion “Active Aging,” a concept endorsed by the World Health Organisation that focuses on health, engagement, and security to improve quality of life for older adults.

Staying active is vital for maintaining physical and mental well-being as we age. The Australian Physical Activity Guidelines recommend 30 minutes of moderate activity daily, which can include walking, gardening, or light strength exercises.

Castle Hill Fitness supports over 900 members aged 70 and older with tailored programs like aqua aerobics, Super Seniors, Strong Bones, and Fitter for Life. Complementing these are yoga, Pilates, and upcoming Tai Chi classes designed to improve balance and flexibility—key in fall prevention.

In partnership with “Live Life Get Active,” Castle Hill RSL Club is launching a new community health initiative, supported by a $15,000 grant. Starting in October, this free program offers daily outdoor sessions for residents over 18, including strength, balance, cardio, and relaxation exercises. Participants will also receive personalised wellness and nutrition guidance.

Amanda King, CEO of Live Life Get Active, shared her excitement: “We’re thrilled to partner with Castle Hill RSL Club to enhance health and well-being in the community.”

This initiative fosters connection, inclusivity, and an active lifestyle, ensuring a healthier future for the Hills community.
